Homework Help & Positive Parenting

On Thursday, April 12 we kicked off our first Homework Help and Positive Parenting class. This year we are partnering with Morton Grove, Skokie, and Niles Public Libraries, District 219, community volunteers as well as Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) to host this 2-hour, weekly session. Kids can get help with their homework and other tutoring services while parents learn practical ways to encourage their children, improve communication, and discipline effectively.

This is an important resource for parents who are learning to navigate an unfamiliar educational system and need the support of their community to build healthy relationships with their kids in the process.

We’re happy to have Katherine Bensinger, Director of the Parenting Education Program at C4, helping out with our class. C4 has been providing diverse communities like Skokie with innovative family counseling services since 1972. Grace Tan, a student in the intermediate Intensive English class, is excited for the fun to begin and luckily there is still space in the class, so please sign up soon to get started!

Homework Help and Positive Parenting meets every Thursday from 6:00-8:00p. Parents of children 7-12 years are welcome to attend. Also, Spanish and Arabic interpreters are available upon request.
