Ms. Bottonari’s Bio:

I am very happy to be a 2nd grade teacher here in Skokie School District 68!  This is my 7th year of teaching, 6 of which have been here in District 68.  I have taught Preschool Special Education, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade.  I love teaching 2nd grade!

Education has been one of the most important aspects of my life since before I can remember.  I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and went to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for my undergraduate degree.  I double majored in Spanish and History and was very fortunate to spend a semester studying abroad in Madrid, Spain.  Throughout my entire undergraduate experience I volunteered at a local school and fell in love with teaching.

Right after graduating from Wake Forest, I headed to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia for my Master’s in Teaching.  My program was called Early Childhood and Developmental Risk and I spent 2 years learning all about early childhood development.  Upon graduation I was ready to return to the Midwest and moved to the Chicago area.  I spent one year teaching in a neighboring district before becoming a member of the District 68 family.  I feel very lucky to be a member of such a wonderful district!
