About Me
Welcome to my blog! My name is Asra Khan. I am excited to begin my first year at OOJH as an ELL teacher. My education and experience has led me to where I am now. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a major in elementary education and minor in anthropology. Thereafter, I worked as an ELL tutor for one year and a second grade teacher for three years. My passion for helping ESL students led me to complete my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in ESL. Moreover, I am bilingual in Hindi and Urdu.
Being an immigrant myself, I can relate to ELLs experiences. My goal is to provide my students with the skills and confidence they need to advance in English along with respecting and valuing their cultural backgrounds.
